Shock news from Mobilis

Sorbothane®, a Mobilis Healthcare brand, has launched Shockstopper+, an improved version of its shock-absorbing shoe insole.

Developed to offer greater shock dispersal, the new range features a lightweight, streamlined construction, a revised absorption profile and convenient trim-to-fit lines, as well as a tackier base that allows insoles and heel pads to adhere firmly to the shoe.

Sorbothane itself is a visco-elastic material whose most notable property when used to manufacture insoles is its capacity to absorb up to 94 per cent of impact shock. Various clinical tests are reported to have show it outperforming foam, rubber, crepe, felt, air and other cushioning materials.

Sorbothane Shockstopper+ is offered in a choice of four different insole formats.

Full Strike is a slimline insole providing the optimum combination of cushioning and shock absorption, for sport, leisure and everyday footwear; Double Strike, with forefoot and heel protection, is ideal for twisting and turning activities like racket sports, basketball and aerobics; Single Strike is designed for heel-intensive activity, such as distance running, hill walking and golf; while ProSole is an ultra-lightweight, super thin insole suitable for spikes and studded boots, helping to reduce torsional or twisting forces.

Also available is a Heel Pad, used when both shock absorption and lift are required and ideal for countering achilles tendonitis.
